Choosing the Right White Noise Level for Your Baby's Sleep
Jan 23, 2024
A good night's sleep is important for families with young babies, and many parents are increasingly turning to white noise machines to help soothe their little ones. So, how many decibels (dB) should white noise be for your baby? It's recommended not to exceed 50 dB as exposure to loud levels can impact a child's developing hearing and auditory system. When playing white noise in your baby's sleep environment, choose a machine or app with adjustable noise levels and place it at a reasonable distance from the crib (about 200 cm). Finally, remember that white noise should only be used as a support tool to promote sleep and not as a constant fixture in your baby's daily routine.
