Operation White Noise Release Date: When Does it Go Live?
Apr 5, 2024
Rainbow Six Siege fans eagerly awaited the release of Operation White Noise. This highly anticipated expansion from Ubisoft brought a slew of new content and massive changes to the popular game. So, when was the release date? And what should players expect from this thrilling update?
Operation White Noise was officially released on December 5th, 2017. The expansion introduced three new operators: Dokkaebi, Vigil, and Zofia, along with a stunning new map called Mok Myeok Tower. Set in South Korea, this vertical map provided a fresh challenge for Rainbow Six Siege players. Alongside the new additions, the expansion also brought bug fixes and balancing adjustments.
Dokkaebi is an attacker from the South Korean 707th Special Mission Battalion. Her unique ability is the Logic Bomb, which causes all enemy phones to ring for a limited time. This alerts her and her teammates to the enemy's position and requires the opposing team to take time to manually disable their phones. Vigil, another operator from the 707th, is a defender with a cloaking ability that hides him from cameras and drones. This makes him difficult to detect, adding an element of stealth to gameplay. Zofia, a defender from the Polish GROM, has a unique launcher that can shoot both impact and concussion grenades.
In addition to new operators and maps, Operation White Noise also implemented a few quality-of-life features, such as a new UI and various bug fixes. For instance, they addressed issues of rubber banding, hit registration, and collision detection, creating a more seamless gaming experience.
Now that Operation White Noise has been out for some time, players have had ample opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new operators, maps, and improvements. As the Rainbow Six Siege community continues to grow, fans eagerly anticipate the next expansion from Ubisoft.
