Understanding White Noise: What Does it Sound Like?
Jan 23, 2024
White noise is a unique sound produced by merging all the frequencies of sound a human being can perceive, which ranges between 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. By blending these frequencies together, it creates a consistent and neutral noise that helps mask other sounds in the environment. People often describe white noise as resembling static or a constant buzzing sound that can be compared to television or radio static, a fan's whirring, or even running water. It is often used to improve concentration, sleep quality, and mask undesirable noises.
